Belarusian motorcyclists led by NOC President brought gifts to orphanage

On International Children's Day, members of the Belarusian motorcycle movement – led by the President of the National Olympic Committee, Viktor Lukashenko – have visited an orphanage in Grodno, and further headed to the city’s military unit

“Everyone wants a holiday, and these children want a holiday twice as much,” Viktor Lukashenko said. “With this in mind, we have decided jointly with a friendly motorcycle club to arrange such a holiday, to bring something new and interesting. To do this, we had to travel a long distance on motorcycles. Together with the local authorities, we have organised a visit to a military unit for boys and girls to look at how servicemen – who defend them – live, and for the officers to once again see whom they are protecting. This brings people closer, broadening our horizons.”

According to the NOC President, the event was truly warm and home-like. “We listened to poems and songs with pleasure, getting acquainted with the children who are devoted to their native home and their Motherland,” Viktor Lukashenko added.

In turn, the Director of The One Chapter Belarus biker club, Yevgeny Beizak, stressed that visiting orphanages across the country has long been a good tradition, “This year, we have decided to visit the Grodno Region and its Ponemunsky Orphanage in order to draw attention to the children’s problems in this way. Many people do not understand that doing good deeds is very easy and simple. They simply need to have a desire, to get ready and to come. Every institution like that leaves something in our memory forever. Children’s pure and sincere eyes cannot be forgotten and cannot be imitated. We later recall such meetings, trying to map a route in such a way so that to visit the already familiar places.”
