Belarusian-Italian liaisons in focus
The Chargé d'Affaires of Belarus in Italy, Vladimir Vasilkov, has met with the Chairperson of the Italian Senate's Commission for Foreign Affairs, Vito Rosario Petrocelli, in Rome – as informed by the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Italy
According to the Embassy of Belarus, the parties discussed prospects for the development of a Belarusian-Italian inter-parliamentary dialogue, topical issues of bilateral humanitarian co-operation and certain aspects of the international agenda in the European region.
Previously, Mr. Vasilkov met with activists of the Committee of Solidarity with Belarus – an Italian informal association that advocates the development of constructive Belarusian-Italian relations and supports the Belarusian state policy aimed at protection of its sovereignty and identity. As the diplomatic mission informed, the Committee’s plans to spread up-to-date and reliable information about Belarus, its domestic and foreign policy, as well as promotion of its cultural and historical heritage in Italian society were discussed.
The Committee of Solidarity with Belarus was established by Italian volunteers in August 2020 and it now unites several dozen activists in Rome, Milan, Reggio Emilia, Livorno, Cosenza and other Italian cities.
