According to the ministry’s press service, the parties noted a significant increase in bilateral trade in the field of food products and agricultural raw materials: in 2024, it doubled against the 2023 figures. Belarus primarily exported skimmed milk powder, whey and rapeseed oil to Saudi Arabia. In Q1 2025, the positive dynamics maintained.
As reported, Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry is actively working to expand the access of Belarusian products to the Saudi market. In particular, the process of obtaining a permit for the supply of poultry meat and products from it is underway. The control system for beef and poultry production in Belarus has been approved by the Saudi side.
"Questionnaires of domestic manufacturers have been sent to the Saudi Arabian register, and the inspection of Belarusian factories has also been completed. Following it, Belhalal JSC received an accreditation certificate, and this means that halal certificates of Belarus will be recognised in the Persian Gulf countries with regard to the entire range of food products: dairy, meat, fish, and confectionery,” the press service added.
During the meeting, Belarus' interest in increasing the supply of dairy products, as well as in entering the market with high-quality halal meat products, was emphasised as well. The Belarusian side asked the representative of Saudi Arabia to assist in speeding up the registration of the necessary documents.
