Belarusian exports of frozen beef up
Sales of frozen beef abroad increased to make 64,000 tonnes in 10 months – as reported by the National Statistical Committee
Against the 2020 figures, Belarusian exports of frozen beef rose by 21 percent and, owing to the increase in average prices, revenues grew over 30 percent.
Most exports went to China. From January-October 2020, more than 5,000 tonnes were sold there but, this year, this figure rose to 22,000 tonnes. China is now second largest buyer of Belarusian frozen beef, behind Russia, and is much ahead of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan which shared almost similar positions a year ago.
Exports of fresh and chilled beef decreased by 3 percent. However, higher prices made it possible to increase sales revenue.
From January-October 2021, exports of Belarusian food products and agricultural raw materials increased by 14.1 percent against the same period in 2020. Around $5.4bn of products were sold to 106 countries worldwide.
