Belarusian cosmonaut’s flight to ISS planned for autumn

As noted by the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Gusakov, on the eve of Belarusian Science Day, participation in this project of manned cosmonautics is prestigious and authoritative for the country, since ‘it confirms Belarus’ image as a space power with a high level of scientific development’

Mr. Gusakov reminded that a large competition had been held, with about 2,000 applications submitted. “At the moment, six applicants are undergoing further testing and selection. Preparation for the flight of a Belarusian cosmonaut is scheduled to start in February, and – if everything goes in line with the plan – the flight to the ISS will take place this autumn,” he said.
