Belarus, Vietnam discuss co-operation in healthcare

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam, Vladimir Borovikov, met with the Deputy Minister of Health of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tran Van Thuan – as reported by the Belarusian diplomatic mission

The meeting was also attended by representatives of Belarus’ National Academy of Sciences, Belarusian universities and pharmaceutical companies that went to the country to visit Vietnam Expo 2022. The sides discussed issues of medical personnel training and the use of Belarusian scientific developments in Vietnamese healthcare. It was agreed to expand the list of supplies of domestic medicines to the market of Vietnam and ASEAN member states.

Tran Van Thuan recognised a high professional level of training at Belarusian medical universities, also praising the quality and effectiveness of medicines produced in Belarus.

In addition, a meeting was held with Pham Ngoc Mau, the Deputy Director of the Department of International Co-operation of Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The sides confirmed their interest in deepening trade and economic liaisons in the field of agriculture and food supplies, while discussing the process of certification of Belarusian meat products on the Vietnamese market, implementation of joint projects, and prospects for Belarus’ participation in realisation of Vietnam’s state agricultural programmes.

Representatives of the leading Belarusian dairy enterprises – who attended the meeting – made short presentations that were highly appreciated by Vietnamese specialists.
