Belarus, Uzbekistan focus on trade and economic co-operation
Trade and economic liaisons have been high on the agenda during a meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan, Leonid Marinich, and the First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov – as informed by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
The sides exchanged information on the results of Belarus-Uzbekistan trade and economic co-operation in 2021 and early 2022. As reported, they demonstrated interest in increasing mutual trade turnover and giving an additional impetus to production and co-operation projects of the two states.
Upcoming bilateral events at the level of heads of governments and business circles were discussed as well.
In 2021, Belarus and Uzbekistan enjoyed $301.9m of trade turnover (7.8 percent up against 2020). Meanwhile, from January-February 2022, the bilateral trade made $53.5m, or 9.9 percent more than in the same period of 2021.
