Belarus, Uzbekistan discussing prospects of co-operation in machine building

Belarus and Uzbekistan have explored the potential and opportunities for implementing joint co-operative projects in the machine building sector during the talks between Belarus’ Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov and a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian Industry Ministry’s website

The negotiations were also attended by the deputy heads of Belarus’ Industry Ministry, Leonid Ryzhkovsky and Denis Bakei, along with Rakhmatulla Nazarov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus. The main focus of the meeting was to explore prospects and opportunities for implementing joint co-operative projects in the machine building sector.

The Belarusian side highlighted the considerable potential for bilateral co-operation and reaffirmed its interest in strengthening liaisons with Uzbek partners. Priority areas identified included developing industrial interaction in agricultural machinery, supplying engines and mining equipment and co-operating in the field of machine tools.

The participants emphasised the importance of enhancing production links, adopting advanced technologies and jointly exploring new markets for their products. Both sides expressed mutual interest in intensifying co-operation and creating favourable conditions for sustainable growth in the production and export of competitive machine building products originating from Belarus and Uzbekistan.

The Industry Ministry stated that the talks were conducted constructively, establishing a solid foundation for the successful continuation of negotiations and the practical implementation of joint initiatives.
