The work on the agreement is supervised by Belarus’ Economy Ministry and the Ministry of Trade of Turkey. Taking into account a wide range of issues envisaged by the document, more than 30 representatives of industry departments took part in the negotiations on the part of each of the states.

The parties discussed a number of drafts of the future agreement: i.e. e-commerce, telecommunications, financial, transport and logistics services, movement of individuals, public procurement, and dispute resolution.

“The Belarusian and Turkish experts’ joint work resulted in the achievement of consensus on most previously not agreed issues, as well as significant progress in the convergence of positions on the remaining sensitive aspects. In addition, the parties decided to start parallel work on lists of obligations on access to the markets of specific service sectors, which will be an integral part of the international agreement,” the Belarusian Economy Ministry’s press service informed.
