Belarus’ travel exports for 11 months of 2024 up 28% on 2023

Exports of tourist services in Belarus for eleven months of 2024 increased by 28 percent against the same period a year ago – as noted by Belarus’ Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik

He noted that in the first eleven months of last year, exports of travel services under the article ‘Trips’, which includes a broader concept of the indicator, totalled $763m, while exports of tourism services amounted to $247m – up 28 percent from the same period in 2023.

“In less than a year, export revenues from tourism have increased by $55m, the balance remains at a positive level, with exports prevailing over imports by $107m,” the official emphasised.

He drew attention to the fact that all regions and Minsk exceeded the 2023 figures by more than a quarter.

“In the post-Covid period of the industry’s recovery in the unstable geopolitical environment, the emphasis was placed on market diversification. As a result, exports of travel services to the CIS member states increased by 30 percent, to the far arc countries – by 27 percent, with positive dynamics observed for China and Africa. Thanks to the introduction of a visa-free regime, flows from the European Union countries are being restored,” Mr. Andreichik shared the details.

He also voiced expectations from the statistics for the year, “Judging by the results of 2024, it is projected that the export values of travel services will reach $900m, exceeding the 2019 figures.”
