The event featured more than 300 stands – including those of Korean and foreign organisations, diplomatic institutions and companies.

As the diplomatic mission has informed, the Belarusian Embassy’s stand enabled Korean and foreign visitors to learn more about the Republic: its tourist potential, UNESCO heritage sites, national parks, cuisine and tourist routes. The head of the KITS-2021 organising committee also visited the stand.

Belarus and Korea established diplomatic relations on February 10th, 1992 and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Seoul began its work in December 1997.

In 2007, an agreement was signed in Seoul on co-operation in the field of culture between the two states’ governments and, in line with this document, Belarus and Korea promote development of contacts between their cultural organisations, while also exchanging information on cultural campaigns – including international ones.

In addition, the agreement envisages development of liaisons between museums and libraries, protection of cultural heritage, opera, ballet, theatre, music, fine arts and cinematography. The two countries also continue developing programmes aimed at exchange and training of specialists in the above-mentioned areas.
