Belarus studies possible supplies of dairy products to Sudan

Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo has held a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan to Belarus Mohammed Omer Musa Ali – as reported in the Ministry’s official Telegram channel

The parties discussed the activation of work as part of the implementation of the memorandum of mutual understanding between the countries in agriculture signed in 2016.

Moreover, the two sides have agreed on the formation of the Belarusian group for a visit to Sudan to study the issues of supplies of Belarusian dairy products and import of goods from Sudan.

The Agriculture and Food Ministry noted that the main cultures of Sudan are sugarcane, sorghum, peanuts and millet while the country’s specialisation is the production and export of Gummiarabika. In the export of this product, the country is a world leader.

“Animal husbandry is one of the important sectors of Sudanese agriculture. The country is ranked fourth worldwide in the number of livestock,” the Ministry drew attention.

It is noted that, last year, Belarus exported tractors, parts and accessories for vehicles and tractors, various types of devices and equipment.
