Belarus to have its ports in Baltic Sea within two years
President Aleksandr Lukashenko told journalists about this in Raubichi
The Head of State noted that recently, even before the start of the military special operation in Ukraine, he discussed this issue with the President of Russia, “We are talking about the construction of port facilities. We need our own ports. Therefore, places were promptly determined. I have already been reported that the places are very good. We’ll go together in spring, maybe in June, and see how the construction is going there. Within two years we will have ports there. We will load our cargoes there, in our ports.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Vladimir Putin assured him of his support for any Belarusian project in Russia, “He told me that they would support any Belarusian project in Russia in every possible way. This was before the conflict. Now, even God has ordered to do this, because you see these crazy sanctions in Europe against Russia, and we come along. So that to prevent Russia from bypassing the sanctions through Belarus. What can be said here? Cats are resting [referring to the fact that the International Feline Federation – FIFE – has forbidden cats whose owners live in Russia to take part in FIFE exhibitions outside the country]. Therefore, they will support us and we will implement any project anywhere in Russia. Let’s be patient for a while. We will wait for a year, and then you will see that they [the West] will come to us, apologise and ask us to co-operate with them.”
