Belarus supplies humanitarian aid to Syria

Belarus has delivered humanitarian aid to Syria – as informed by the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Syria

A ceremony of the humanitarian aid acceptance took place at the seaport of Latakia. The cargo included medicines, food and electrical equipment.

As the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Syria, Yuri Sluka, stated, this was a really important humanitarian campaign for Belarus – held not for the first time and not in the easiest period for the country’s Syrian friends. “In our modern world, communications between people and states are becoming increasingly difficult but – despite the distances – people in Belarus always remember their Syrian friends," the diplomat said.

Mr. Sluka believes, Belarus, like no other country in the world, understands the hardships that Syrians have been experiencing for 11 years. “We are convinced that our humanitarian actions contribute to the final victory of Syrian people in the struggle for their independence and the country’s territorial integrity,” he stressed.

The Ambassador said that Belarus not only supplies humanitarian aid to Syria but also accepts Syrian children for recreation and rehabilitation, “Belarus confirms its further intention to continue such humanitarian actions to help the people of Syria.”

The event was attended by the Latakia Province leadership and representatives of the Syrian ministries and departments to which humanitarian aid will be distributed.

A part of medicines was delivered by the staff of the Belarusian Embassy in Syria to the Latakia city hospital.
