Belarus should be friends with all, former extremist media editor believes
Aleksandr Lukashenko has always been able to wisely find a balance between the West and the East – as noted by Roman Protasevich, the former editor of extremist media, in his talk with the ONT TV channel

Mr. Protasevich named one of the main advantages of the Head of State, “My position is that we should be friends with everyone. One of the advantages of Lukashenko as a politician is that he has always been able to wisely find a balance between the East and the West. This is the balance that Belarus needs. Our country has always skilfully stayed somewhere in the middle between the East and the West, but the balance began to be interrupted with the introduction of sanctions. It is difficult for me to understand those saying that Belarus should choose the western path of development. These people are building a wall at the same time, pushing Belarus away from the West.”
The man noted that, while preparing a coup in Belarus, the opposition forces had been convinced that the country would not be able to completely give up on the West and would agree to concessions. “It did not work,” he stressed.
