Belarus Segodnya and Egemen Kazakhstan signed information exchange agreement

On December 20th, an agreement on information exchange has been signed between the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House affiliated with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Egemen Kazakhstan Republican Newspaper JSC

The specified agreements will enable the two states’ leading print media to establish closer practical co-operation in terms of partner exchange of content and publications, training of journalists, and organisation of joint media events.

The information exchange agreement was signed by the First Deputy Director –Editor-in-Chief of Belarus Segodnya Publishing House, Mikhail Lebedik, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Egemen Kazakhstan’s Board, Vladimir Kuryatov.

“In our modern days, it is extremely important to receive reliable and up-to-date information from original sources rather than third-country media retransmission,” Mr. Lebedik emphasised. “Using immense information opportunities and platforms of the two sides, we will strive to ensure that people in Kazakhstani learn more about Belarus’ development, its creative and peace-loving policy, international initiatives and contribution to integration co-operation in the Eurasian space. I am convinced that Belarusian readers will also be interested in learning more about Kazakhstan – an important political and economic partner of our country.”

“The signed agreement opens up good prospects for co-operation and experience exchange,” Mr. Kuryatov said. “In particular, we are interested in experience of the Belarus Segodnya newspaper: how it is adapting to a not simple situation in the media market in the context of Internet and social networks development, and how it is being transformed. We are interested to learn of whether newspapers are delivered to rural areas on schedule. Perhaps our colleagues are interested in the experience of Kazakhstan. I think the signed agreement will benefit our newspapers and readers.”
