Belarus ranks first in EAEU in agricultural production per capita

This statement was made by Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister, Leonid Zayats, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel

As Mr Zayats noted, it is too early to talk about 2022 harvest forecasts, but it is possible to state with confidence that Belarus enjoys fully-fledged food independence.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the county is ranked high among the Eurasian Economic Union member states. “Belarus is number one among the EAEU countries in agricultural production per capita which is worth $986 – against an average value of $649 within the EAEU,” he said.

Mr. Zayats emphasised that Belarus is among the top five global suppliers of dairy products. It ranks third in butter, fourth in cheese, and fifth in milk powder.
