Belarus’ Prosecutor General: rewriting history may be first step towards open military invasion
Belarus’ Prosecutor General Andrei Shved gave a big interview to the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House, drawing attention to the peculiarities of the current international situation
“Today, the West, as before, is ready to solve its problems at someone else’s expense, including by military means. Rewriting history may be the first step towards an open military invasion. It is impossible to exclude such a development of events,” the Prosecutor General said.
Commenting on the efforts of the Prosecutor’s office to preserve historical memory, the head of the supervisory authority stressed, “Today, all masks have been thrown off, and we’re well aware that the West will look for new ways to influence the minds and hearts of its and our citizens. That’s why we should not stop working to preserve historical memory. Every criminal case of crimes committed by Nazi criminals and their accomplices will be investigated openly and publicly, and widely covered in the media. The Belarusian people should know by name everyone who shed the blood of our fellow citizens less than a century ago on this land in order to see all the parallels and the aggression that is manifested against our country today.”
Andrei Shved also said that by the end of the year, the Prosecutor General’s Office will initiate several more criminal trials against Nazi accomplices who escaped retribution and responsibility in the post-war period.
