Belarus’ PM: State Quality Mark to be approved by Presidential decree

After today’s meeting with the President, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told journalists who will be awarded the State Quality Mark in Belarus and for what

The PM noted that the meeting also discussed the issue of establishing a State Quality Mark, “As far as the appearance of the quality mark is concerned, we’ve agreed that there is no need to greatly modify the mark that existed in the Soveit times. Of course, the letters of the USSR will be replaced with the name of our country, but the stylisation itself – including the pentagon as a symbol of reliability, accessibility, safety, aesthetics and innovation and the inverted letter ‘K’ – will be the simplest and most understandable option for perception.”

The State Quality Mark will be approved by the Presidential decree and should be the highest mark indicating that goods have been thoroughly tested.

“It will be awarded not to an enterprise as a whole, or even to a group of products, but to a particular item from a specific manufacturer,” explained Roman Golovchenko. “Therefore, the decision-making procedure must be very carefully calibrated.”

It is planned that the decision on awarding the quality mark will be made by the national certification commission, and its first holders will appear in late 2024.
