The Belarusian delegation was headed by Belarus’ First Deputy Foreign Minister, General Commissioner of Section for Belarus at EXPO 2020 – Aleksandr Guryanov. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of Belarus to the UAE – Andrei Luchenok, heads of the national pavilions of Moldova, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Monaco and others.

As informed by Ms. Komarova, traditional ribbon-cutting and bread-and-salt ceremonies took place as part of the event, in addition to a performance of the Talaka dance, music and song ensemble, and a tour of the pavilion for guests. “Moreover, the first agreement on media co-operation between Belarus’ pavilion and the Russian Emirates Publishing & Advertising publishing house was signed during the ceremony,” she said.

The Belarusian pavilion is located in the Favourable Opportunity thematic zone and occupies a total area of 1,200 square metres. Its theme is Forest of Future Technologies, while the concept is based on innovations, investments and individual and aims to demonstrate the investment and innovation potential of Belarus centred round the person.

Visitors will be able to get to know Belarus better and also learn of its investment and innovation opportunities. The latest technologies were used in preparing the country’s pavilion and it now has interactive walls, virtual reality glasses, holographic images, and more. A special video content has also been prepared about the identity and colour of Belarusian culture, its natural resources and artistic heritage.

The main emphasis is placed on the business zone. Here, our petrochemical and industrial enterprises, leading universities, scientific institutes and organisations will present their potential.
