Belarus now has unique legal document: Constitution of the future, Lukashenko says

“Parliamentarians, mass media, trade unions and experts – who competently and intelligibly explained to people the nuances of the proposed changes – have worked well. I would also like to appreciate the coherence and co-ordination of actions of all participants in the process of preparing and holding the referendum. Precinct and territorial commissions under the leadership of the Central Election Commission have successfully coped with their task. The atmosphere at the polling stations was festive, as is traditional. I would like to thank everyone who created this atmosphere on a historically important day with their talent and creativity,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The President also noted the well-coordinated work of law enforcement agencies, thanks to which people could calmly and confidently cast their ballot. Everyone felt completely safe.

“This indicates that the period – about which we were so worried and which unexpectedly crashed down on us in August 2020 – is over. The people have put an end to this outrage. We are now entering a new period of hard creative work, and the results of this period will depend exclusively on us. We have created and adopted a unique legal document. It combines tradition and innovation, democracy and unity of governance. Without false modesty, it can be called the Constitution of the future,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
