Belarus, Mongolia discuss co-operation in agriculture

Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Minister, Igor Brylo, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Belarus, Batsukh Bayarsaikhan – as reported by the Agriculture and Food Ministry’s press service

As informed, the sides discussed further development of bilateral trade and economic relations between Belarus and Mongolia. Among the issues under consideration were the supply of Belarusian breeding cattle and equipment for livestock farms in Mongolia, co-operation in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, agricultural education, and also mutual participation in exhibitions, fairs and forums in the agro-industrial sphere.

According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry’s data, over the past year, the Belarus-Mongolia trade turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials stood at $14.1m – demonstrating a 2.5-fold increase. “Milk and dairy products were the key export items, accounting for 85.9 percent. In January-February 2022, the two states’ trade turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials amounted to $4.8m (an increase of 5.9 times)," the press service reported.
