An instrument on Belarus' accession to the Protocol to the Eurasian Patent Convention on the Protection of Industrial Designs was transferred.

As noted by Mr. Ambrazevich, Belarus’ participation in regional conventions in the field of intellectual property is a step towards improving the innovation environment and business climate in Belarus. "The progressive dynamics of co-operation development with WIPO in order to improve the Belarusian legislation in the field of intellectual property protection and promotion of innovation has been outlined," the Foreign Ministry reported.

The Permanent Representative of Belarus thanked Mr. Tang for technical and expert assistance provided to Belarus to solve this problem.

The Protocol to the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC) on the Protection of Industrial Designs was adopted in Nur-Sultan in 2019. It aims to develop a system of protection of industrial designs in the EAPC member states and provides an opportunity to obtain a single Eurasian patent for an industrial design which will be valid on the territory of all EAPC countries.
