Co-operation between Belarus and Zimbabwe in medicine, agriculture, mining and a number of other areas was in the centre of attention at the Palace of Independence – as the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Auxilia Mnangagwa, told journalists when commenting on the results of her meeting with the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko

According to the guest, there was not a single closed topic during the meeting, “I felt absolutely at home, and we discussed absolutely everything. I see that our collaboration will go forward, because the President of Belarus has an important thing that we also have. He is able and ready to work hard and for a long time. During a meeting with Mr. President, I told him that he is not only a father, but also a mother for his country. We saw how children and women are taken care of in hospitals...”

Auxilia Mnangagwa added that she came to Belarus not only as the First Lady of her country, but also as a mother who knows well what is happening in families. She also noted that Aleksandr Lukashenko’s visit to Zimbabwe has become a historic one, the people of Zimbabwe remember him very well. Meanwhile, the current discussion also tackled agriculture, medicine, and the mining industry.

“We also discussed exchange programmes and training opportunities for Zimbabwean specialists in Belarus: in medical universities, in the agricultural sector. We also need equipment and specialists to extract the mineral wealth that our country boasts,” she said.
