During their talk in Minsk, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Co-operation, which is scheduled to be held in Yerevan at the end of September. The Forestry Minister will co-chair the event from the Belarusian side.

In recent years, there has been a positive trend in bilateral trade: i.e. in January-June 2022, the turnover increased by more than 70 percent to make $60.3m.

Mr. Kulik stressed that Belarus is ready for further expansion of co-operation, including in the field of forestry, “We see that housing construction and reconstruction is actively underway in Armenia now. We are ready to supply our construction materials, including sawn timber products, to this wonderful country.”

In turn, Mr. Khumaryan noted that Belarusian goods enjoy demand in Armenia. Moreover, in 2023, the countries will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and a whole series of events is planned – including photo exhibitions, Days of Armenian Culture in Belarus, and others.
