Belarus’ industrial enterprises signed package of documents on co-operation in Zimbabwe

A package of documents on co-operation between industrial enterprises of the two countries was signed at the Belarusian-Zimbabwean Business Forum in Harare, as part of the state visit of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA reports with reference to the Industry Ministry’s press service

In order to develop co-operation in the field of agriculture, memoranda and co-operation agreements were signed between the official dealer – AFTRADE DMCC and Lidselmash JSC, Gomselmash JSC, Bobruiskagromash JSC and the Management Company of the Minsk Motor Plant Holding in the field of product sales in Zimbabwe. In addition, a memorandum of strategic partnership was signed between MTZ JSC and AFTRADE DMCC as part of the promotion of BELARUS machinery in the Zimbabwean market.

A memorandum of intent between BELAZ JSC, SOHRA Overseas FZE and Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company Pvt Ltd was also inked; it aims at the implementation of the agreements dealing with the supply of Belarusian machinery and equipment for Zimbabwe’s mining industry.

In addition, the Union of Non-Profit Organisations – Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) of the Republic of Belarus – and the Confederation of Industrialists of the Republic of Zimbabwe signed a memorandum of understanding.

B2B negotiations were held with business circles of Zimbabwe during the forum, and Zimbabwean partners showed great interest in Belarusian-made machinery.

Africa is now an actively developing region, and it is of great interest to the global business community. For Belarus, it is one of the most promising markets for the supply of its products. In January-November 2022, exports of Belarus’ Industry Ministry companies to the African continent increased more than 1.5-fold.

"Favourable conditions and prerequisites have been created in relations with Zimbabwe for mutually beneficial co-operation in the long term. This is greatly facilitated by official and working visits, including at the highest level. Belarusian-made agricultural machinery is very popular, and it has proven itself in the best way among African consumers, who recognise a high quality of Belarusian tractors and other agricultural machinery. I am convinced that a wide range of Belarusian agricultural machinery products will continue to be in demand on the Zimbabwean market and will significantly increase the efficiency of local agriculture,” Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.
