Mr. Khodzhayev stated that the healthcare system is updated every year, “We are systematically working to provide medicines and high-quality, affordable care at all levels: in the countryside, in cities and in small settlements.”
In addition, the Healthcare Minister noted that 62 percent of medicines produced in the republic currently cost less than $2. He stressed that if these 62 percent are taken as 100 percent, then 32 percent of the drugs produced cost less than $1.
“Currently, 60 percent of medicines used in the republican formulary are produced in Belarus. This ensures our pharmacological safety. Our goal is to increase this figure to 70 percent by the end of the year,” he added.
The Healthcare Minister is also convinced that it is necessary to continue working to make the range of products produced in Belarus accessible to the general public, “This task is being solved at system level, among other things. There are districts and villages where only a few people live. At the same time, we are delivering medicines that can be used in these areas in a mobile way.”
