Belarus’ Healthcare Minister: healthcare has been and remains priority for the state
Belarus’ Healthcare Minister Aleksandr Khodzhaev familiarised himself with the work of the modern emergency surgery building for cerebro-cardiovascular pathology at the Mogilev Emergency Care Hospital – built on behalf of the President – and emphasised that equipping not only Minsk’s clinics but also third-level hospitals in the regions with high-tech equipment is a systematic effort
“We can state the fact that now we are not re-fitting, but re-equipping medical equipment. If the equipment is outdated in terms of its technical characteristics and has worked for more than a decade, it is being upgraded. In 2024, about Br500m have been earmarked for this purpose from the republican and local budgets. Another Br700m have been spent on construction, as well as capital and current repairs. Huge funds have been invested in the healthcare system for many years to ensure quality and affordable medical care, which should save lives, reduce mortality and ensure very fast recovery and rehabilitation. The most advanced achievements of world medicine are being introduced into Belarus’ healthcare system and new unique technologies are being introduced into medical practice. Healthcare has always been and remains a priority for our state,” the Healthcare Minister noted.
