Belarus’ FM stated fact of harassment of sensible politicians in EU
Belarus is trying to appeal to the sensible forces of the European society and finds some response, yet currently very small – as noted by Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel
“Of course, we are watching, we are expressing our position, we are trying to appeal to the sensible forces of European society to find some kind of response. But today it is extremely small, because as soon as there are politicians somewhere in Europe who stand up for their country, who start speaking in the interests of their people, who urge to stop this bacchanalia with weapons and stop looking through the firing port, certain actions against them immediately begin,” Mr. Ryzhenkov emphasised.
In particular, the FM was asked about the 800bn Euro rearmament plan for the EU, proposed by the President of the European Commission.
“They invite to create a fund and to arm at the expense of increasing the debt ceiling of countries and the possibility of adopting deficit budgets for all countries. What does this mean? This indicates the weakening of this currency: the Euro. This indicates that people will get less benefits for their wages. This indicates that there will be an increase in prices, inflation. So they are arming themselves today at the expense of ordinary people. It is unclear who needs this,” Mr. Ryzhenkov emphasised.
