Belarus' exports of tourist services reached $150m in ten months of 2022

As noted by Oleg Andreichik, the Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism, the 2022 tourist season was dynamic

“We see that the sphere is actively recovering, and there are certain results. The number of organised tourists has increased by 200,000 persons – to make a total of 1,157,000 people in nine months of this year. We also register an increase in the number of foreign citizens who visit Belarus. From January-October, 1,163,000 foreigners came to our country (122 percent more than in 2021),” the official said.

Among the leaders are Russians, Lithuanians (flows grew 7-fold), Latvians, and Poles.

“The visa-free regime demonstrates its effectiveness. As for the economy, we have increased the volume of exports of tourist services – generating about $150m in ten months. The main exporters are Russia, Türkiye, Latvia, and China,” Mr. Andreichik informed, adding that hunting tourism, farmsteads and Belarusian health resorts enjoy the greatest demand.
