Belarus’ Emergencies Minister, Ambassador of China discussed intensification of security co-operation between two countries
Belarus’ Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky has held an official meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan at Minsk’s Educational Centre for Life Safety today
Mr. Sinyavsky reported in detail on the emergency prevention and response system operational in Belarus, paying special attention to achievements in the field of fire, industrial, nuclear and radiation safety, as well as the experience of eliminating the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. He informed on the structure and work of the Emergencies Ministry, the activities of the Republican Emergency Management and Response Centre, the University of Civil Protection, the Educational Centre for Life Safety, and other agencies.
The Emergencies Minister stressed that Belarus and China have established reliable and friendly relations, confirmed by a number of successfully implemented joint projects aimed at improving the safety of citizens of both countries. He expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its assistance in organising the participation of Belarusian specialists in training seminars in China.
Special attention was paid to the issues of youth co-operation. Mr. Sinyavsky invited the Chinese team to take part in the International Rally of Young Rescuers and Firefighters, which will be held in July 2026 at the Zubrenok Children's Centre on Lake Naroch.
Chinese colleagues were also invited to the 3rd National Security exhibition, scheduled to be held on June 17th-19th in Minsk. Mr. Sinyavsky noted that the Emergencies Ministry is actively liaising with national manufacturers in the development and modernisation of machinery and equipment. Belarus has established the production of modern fire and rescue vehicles that meet high reliability and efficiency requirements.
During the meeting, Mr. Sinyavsky also announced an upcoming visit to China, during which he is expected to meet with his Chinese counterpart: Minister Wang Xiangxi.
In turn, Ambassador Zhang Wenchuan noted that all-weather and strategic Belarusian-Chinese relations under the leadership of the heads of state are at an unprecedented high level in all areas — politics, culture and also emergency management and response (which are one of the most important areas of co-operation), “I am convinced that your visit to China will become another step in the development of interaction between our countries in the field of emergency prevention, mitigation of the consequences of disasters and their elimination.”
The diplomat informed the Belarusian side about the system of emergency response and prevention of man-made disasters, separately noting the priority importance of emergency prevention and the creation of a smart management decision support system during disaster management. At the end of the meeting, he expressed deep interest in further liaisons.
After the official part of the meeting, Zhang Wenchuan got acquainted with the training and demonstration sites of the educational centre – such as modern simulators, teaching methods, specialised machinery and equipment used for training and practical exercises.
