Belarus elected Vice-Chair of UNESCO Disability Friendship Group
The Republic of Belarus has been elected Vice-Chair of the UNESCO Disability Friendship Group, sb.by reports with reference to the Foreign Ministry

Belarus’ joining the leadership of the group once again confirms the republic’s commitment to the principles of inclusion and support for equal rights and opportunities for all.
Venezuela (Chair), China, Nigeria and Turkiye were also elected to the leadership.

The Disability Friendship Group was established at UNESCO on December 3rd, 2024 at the initiative of Venezuela. Belarus acted as its co-founder.
The group is a specialised forum aimed at promoting inclusive policies and integrating people with disabilities into the fields of education, science, culture, communication and information in order to remove barriers and enhance co-ordination between countries and international partners.
