Belarus developed new type of medical products
A new type of medical products for the country has been developed in Belarus – as reported by the Republican Research and Practical Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology (RRPCM) in its Telegram channel
The scientific project, which was carried out by the Centre’s innovation laboratory has been successfully completed. It refers to the development of microbial reference strains.
It is clarified that reference bacterial strains are laboratory standards used in microbiological research. They serve to improve the efficiency, standardisation and quality control of these studies. Previously, only foreign-made reference bacterial strains were used in Belarus, usually from the American ATCC collection.
Belarusian specialists have developed a manufacturing technology, conducted clinical trials. The first ten domestic reference bacterial strains passed the state registration, production was organised and experimental series were produced.
It is noted that the introduction of the development in the country will ensure the availability of reference bacterial strains for microbiological laboratories, reduce the cost of purchasing these laboratory standards. Moreover, this is a certain contribution to import substitution.
