Welcoming the diplomats, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “The cadence of a new ambassador in the host country is a stage in bilateral relations. The proactive and wise work of the diplomatic mission head can significantly strengthen contacts between the centres and raise them to a new level for the benefit of our countries and peoples. I hope that your period of service in Belarus will be filled with interesting events, new acquaintances, and a lot of useful events that will allow us to jointly implement many mutually beneficial projects. We are open to that. You will have the opportunity to see for yourself more than once that Belarus is completely different from what it is quite often being presented through black paints and a stream of negativity.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that our country is successfully developing despite the Western stereotypes, “Despite the pressure exerted from outside, we are comprehensively improving our potential and offering our friends and partners all the best we have gained over decades in science, education, healthcare, industry, agriculture and other sectors.”
According to the President, this year began with an important political campaign in Belarus — the election of the Head of State — during which the voters convincingly expressed their support for continuing the course of building a strong independent socially oriented state, “We call it a state for the people, wishing to live in peace and harmony with all countries regardless of their size, position in world rankings or place on the map. This is the essence of our foreign policy and our approaches to building relations with our neighbours and countries geographically distant from us. Believe me, where we are not given ultimatums, where conditions are not dictated, where we see a convergence of views and perceptions, neither distance, nor different faiths or cultural traditions will prevent us from reaching an agreement. The language of respect and openness is universal. It does not need an interpreter. It is understood on every continent. All that is needed is goodwill and, as the saying goes, not to harbour a grudge.”
The President stated that Belarusians had reached all limits of wars and turbulence over the previous centuries. “This year, we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which claimed the life of every third resident of our country and caused fatal destruction of most of the territory and economy of Belarus. In 1945, thanks to the Soviet people, fascism was defeated, and all the peoples of Europe managed to breathe freely and begin their return to peaceful life,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised that this is not a manifestation of Belarusians’ bellicose policy, no matter how much someone might like to present it in this way. “We simply paid a high price for that victory, and we know very well the severity of the losses that the war brought to us,” he said.
As reminded by the Head of State, large-scale research is being conducted in Belarus to identify the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices, and the facts that are now being revealed make us look at the scale and horror of the Great Patriotic War in a new way.
“With this in mind, we work daily at all levels to eliminate any disagreements in society, maintain interethnic and interfaith peace and harmony, do not threaten anyone, but at the same time strengthen the economic foundations and defence capability of our state,” the President stated.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarus stands for the peaceful resolution of any conflicts through diplomatic means and is making significant efforts to resolve the armed conflict in neighbouring Ukraine and other hot spots of the world as soon as possible. “Our initiatives to build an equal and indivisible security architecture, including in the Eurasian space, and to conduct a comprehensive dialogue in the spirit of San Francisco are evidence of this,” the Head of State stressed.

The President also commented on the promising areas of co-operation with each of the states

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Belarus is open to contacts and diverse co-operation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, “Despite artificial external barriers and the unstable international situation, we see opportunities for developing ties in areas of mutual interest. We have many positive examples of co-operation and joint developments, especially in mechanical engineering, agriculture, and healthcare. I believe that regularising bilateral contacts — diplomatic, business, regional, and parliamentary — will help identify new points of contact and launch new joint projects.”

Burkina Faso

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, this country is currently going through an important period in its history. “Belarus is ready to lend a hand to our friends in industrialising various sectors of the economy and increasing their efficiency. You can count on us. The same applies equally to the fields of education, healthcare, high technology, and addressing challenges in defence and food security. I propose to work on the creation of co-ordination mechanisms in the form of a joint intergovernmental commission and a business co-operation council,” he addressed the diplomat.

Georgia
Belarus highly appreciates and supports Georgia’s steps to defend its statehood and sovereignty, and Aleksandr Lukashenko explained, “This is consistent with our approaches. The traditions of friendship and mutual respect between Belarusians and Georgians, the common pages of our history are a solid foundation for the resumption of full-fledged comprehensive co-operation between our countries. You know very well that our doors are always open for you. We have absolutely no problematic issues in relations with Georgia.”

India

As noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, this country is not just Belarus’ long-time friend and partner. “We strive to reach a strategic level of relations with your country. With the support of New Delhi, Minsk became a full member of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation in 2024 and received the status of a BRICS partner country. We are very grateful to the Indian leadership for these steps,” he said.

Kenya

Belarus views Kenya as a point of reference in East Africa, and Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “In December 2023, we agreed with the President to intensify contacts in a number of areas, the key of which is ensuring food security in Kenya. The Belarusian side is ready for substantive work with the new Government of your country. We are waiting for President Ruto in Minsk at a time of his convenience.”

Laos
According to the President, Belarus’ interaction with Laos on international platforms has always been friendly and constructive. “In the near future, it is necessary to implement the agreements reached during my meeting with the President last year in Kazan. For this purpose, a number of joint events are planned with our Lao partners,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

Malaysia

The Head of State noted that Malaysia is a promising partner of Belarus in Southeast Asia. “Our countries have great, but not yet fully utilised, opportunities for co-operation in food security, industrial liaisons, information and communication technologies,” he said. The President wished Malaysia a successful ASEAN presidency in 2025.

Myanmar
The Head of State sees great prospects for the development of partnership with Myanmar. “A few days ago, we discussed a full range of bilateral relations with the Chairman of the State Administrative Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar during his official visit to Belarus,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

Pakistan

Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Belarus highly values Pakistan as a reliable partner in South Asia and the Muslim world, “My recent visit to Islamabad resulted in agreements on many promising areas. The Belarusian side is ready to strictly fulfil all its obligations, closely co-ordinating actions with the Pakistani side.”
