Welcoming the diplomats, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “The cadence of a new ambassador in the host country is a stage in bilateral relations. The proactive and wise work of the diplomatic mission head can significantly strengthen contacts between the centres and raise them to a new level for the benefit of our countries and peoples. I hope that your period of service in Belarus will be filled with interesting events, new acquaintances, and a lot of useful events that will allow us to jointly implement many mutually beneficial projects. We are open to that. You will have the opportunity to see for yourself more than once that Belarus is completely different from what it is quite often being presented through black paints and a stream of negativity.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that our country is successfully developing despite the Western stereotypes, “Despite the pressure exerted from outside, we are comprehensively improving our potential and offering our friends and partners all the best we have gained over decades in science, education, healthcare, industry, agriculture and other sectors.”According to the President, this year began with an important political campaign in Belarus — the election of the Head of State — during which the voters convincingly expressed their support for continuing the course of building a strong independent socially oriented state, “We call it a state for the people, wishing to live in peace and harmony with all countries regardless of their size, position in world rankings or place on the map. This is the essence of our foreign policy and our approaches to building relations with our neighbours and countries geographically distant from us. Believe me, where we are not given ultimatums, where conditions are not dictated, where we see a convergence of views and perceptions, neither distance, nor different faiths or cultural traditions will prevent us from reaching an agreement. The language of respect and openness is universal. It does not need an interpreter. It is understood on every continent. All that is needed is goodwill and, as the saying goes, not to harbour a grudge.”
The President stated that Belarusians had reached all limits of wars and turbulence over the previous centuries. “This year, we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which claimed the life of every third resident of our country and caused fatal destruction of most of the territory and economy of Belarus. In 1945, thanks to the Soviet people, fascism was defeated, and all the peoples of Europe managed to breathe freely and begin their return to peaceful life,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised that this is not a manifestation of Belarusians’ bellicose policy, no matter how much someone might like to present it in this way. “We simply paid a high price for that victory, and we know very well the severity of the losses that the war brought to us,” he said.
As reminded by the Head of State, large-scale research is being conducted in Belarus to identify the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices, and the facts that are now being revealed make us look at the scale and horror of the Great Patriotic War in a new way.
“With this in mind, we work daily at all levels to eliminate any disagreements in society, maintain interethnic and interfaith peace and harmony, do not threaten anyone, but at the same time strengthen the economic foundations and defence capability of our state,” the President stated.According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarus stands for the peaceful resolution of any conflicts through diplomatic means and is making significant efforts to resolve the armed conflict in neighbouring Ukraine and other hot spots of the world as soon as possible. “Our initiatives to build an equal and indivisible security architecture, including in the Eurasian space, and to conduct a comprehensive dialogue in the spirit of San Francisco are evidence of this,” the Head of State stressed.

The President also commented on the promising areas of co-operation with each of the states
