Belarus’ deputy comments on Poland’s historical policy

“We will not allow this evil to infect our territories,” a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Sergei Klishevich, said in his talk with Alfa Radio

Programme host Vadim Shepet noted that videos – featuring demolition of Red Army monuments – are actively being spread in Poland. The deputy commented, “The first aspect is the Polish historical policy. Such actions reflect their gratitude to our great-grandparents who sacrificed their lives for the Polish state to exist. They are now demolishing monuments and graves of soldiers ‘as a sign of gratitude’ to this. They will actually face the consequences of this, the day of reckoning is yet to come. Polish policy today is aimed, among other things, at breaking up and demonising Russia as a state. They will do it in history, in philosophy, and in politics – wherever they find it possible.”

As Mr. Klishevich added, the Polish leadership is now trying to present themselves as fighters against the Russian Empire. At the same time, they condemn richer European states. “We will not allow this evil to infect our territories,” the deputy stressed.
