Belarus, Cuba discussed circulation of medicines

Dmitry Grinko, the Director of the Centre for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare, met with Santiago Perez Benitez, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Belarus – as reported by the Centre’s press service

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Centre for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare and the Cuban diplomatic mission. The sides discussed co-operation in the field of circulation of medicines and medical goods, while focusing mostly on prospects for the use of Soberana and Soberana Plus COVID vaccines in Belarus. The drugs were developed by the Finlay Vaccine Institute and manufactured by BIOCEN.

Production localisation for Belarusian and Cuban medicines on the territory of the both countries was negotiated, in addition to expansion of co-operation between pharmaceutical manufacturers. Other issues on the agenda tackled the interaction of organisations authorised in the field of registration of Belarusian and Cuban medicines in order to facilitate their access to the both states’ markets.
