Belarus, China discuss co-operation within international organisations
Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong – as reported in the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
The two sides discussed topical issues of Belarusian-Chinese interaction within the framework of international organisations, including the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
The Deputy Minister stressed that the Belarusian side welcomes the nomination of the current FAO Director General Qu Dongyu to the post of head of the organisation for a new term.
It was also noted that the impartial and depoliticised approaches of the FAO Secretariat to the implementation of the tasks of international interaction in the area of responsibility of the organisation, objective assessments by its leadership of the state of global food security and the factors influencing it cause deep respect and support of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
