Belarus can compete in global microelectronics market
The microelectronics industry is in high demand today, and the state will support its development — as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his visit to INTEGRAL JSC — INTEGRAL Holding Managing Company

INTEGRAL General Director Andrei Buinevich reported to the Head of State on the financial and economic condition and development prospects of the holding, and also familiarised the President with the exhibition of products.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that, starting from next year, only the projects that are necessary for the economy and people, the productions that the market needs today and in which Belarusians have competencies will be implemented as part of the state investment programme.
“At my suggestion and following my strict demand, we are now talking much about the development, investment programmes, and investing money,” the Head of State noted. “Microelectronics is in the top today! There will be no [development] without it in the future. What artificial intelligence and other related aspects are possible without it?”The Belarusian leader added that he had signed the state investment programme not immediately, noting that the projects already being implemented need to be definitely completed. “Starting from next year, according to the investment programmes, we will develop only the branches that are needed for our life — primarily, production. If there is production, there is life. The question of what path to choose arises, as natural. Once again, I have been guided by our life in demanding to develop the areas where we have competencies and a base. With this in view, I demanded that money be invested in the development of the competencies that we have.” As an example, the Head of State mentioned the development of the automotive industry in the country and, in particular, the production of electric vehicles, which requires the development of relevant industries, including energy.

The Head of State recalled that the modernisation of the branch is currently underway as part of the programme outlining the microelectronic industry development until 2030. “Over the past two years, almost Br500m have been allocated for its implementation, and it is planned to master the same amount by 2030. The total revenue in the industry should increase 3-4 times during this period,” he said.
The President asked how the programme is being implemented, whether any relevant changes and additions are needed. The Belarusian leader stated that there are certain results already: foreign exchange earnings and profits are growing, and salaries at enterprises are 1.5 times higher than the national average.
“I am sure there are reserves to boost — to maximise production volumes and increase exports — this year as well. The modern world is in need of billions of chips, microchips, and transistors. At the same time, the struggle for markets is also intense. No one is ready to abandon their niche, giving it to someone other. The competition will get tougher. We can compete in this market, and this is our great achievement,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised. Therefore, as noted by the Head of State, it is necessary to look into the future as far as possible and invest in development. “The proactive modernisation of enterprises must be ensured, and we should also introduce the latest technologies and invest in personnel. The state will always find the money for this,” he said.
The President asked how work is progressing to train specialists and encourage them to work in the industry, how co-operation with universities is structured, whether there are any problems and what help is needed. “I would like to emphasise once again: our industry needs to focus on what we should produce today with an eye on tomorrow. Money is to be invested in the production in which we have competencies. It is necessary not only to develop ‘in depth’, but also to expand,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

During his visit to INTEGRAL JSC — INTEGRAL Holding Managing Company, the Head of State noted that it is necessary to once again analyse the work of one of the most important sectors of the Belarusian industry: microelectronics. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, this is no coincidence, as the role of electronics for the future of Belarus and Russia can hardly be overestimated.
“In our age, advanced technologies include defence capability, sovereignty and independence of the state. Our country is one of the few that possesses high competences in the development and manufacture of a wide range of electronic components, alongside the production of unique technological equipment for the industry. Such countries in the world can literally be counted on the fingers of one hand. However, time waits for no one, and neither do the competitors,” the Belarusian leader explained. The President emphasised that our country has preserved not only production facilities but, more importantly, scientific, design and engineering personnel. Belarus is developing its own school, training young people.
Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that two years ago, when visiting the Planar Holding Company, the issues of development of domestic microelectronics were discussed in detail. At that time, according to the Head of State, we identified a niche for ourselves in one of the most capacious segments of the global microchip market.
“This is the basis for power and industrial electronics products, as well as for space, where the impact of radiation and radio interference must be taken into account. Together with Russian partners, we have identified a critical element base for development. All this formed the basis of the microelectronics industry development programme for the period until 2030. We are carrying out our modernisation within the framework of this programme,” the President added.
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko was demonstrated a microcircuit which brought the Quality Mark award (first in the history of sovereign Belarus) to the company this year
INTEGRAL General Director Andrei Buinevich, in particular, reported to the Head of State on the production development prospects. The range of products is impressive. Among them are more than 2.5 thousand types of integrated circuits, 500 types of semiconductor devices, 200 types of liquid crystal indicators and modules, and 150 types of electronic products. The company also produces medical devices and equipment, electronic displays, control units for household, industrial, automotive and agricultural machinery.“This is our pride: the Quality Mark,” Mr. Buinevich demonstrated a microcircuit resembling a small DVD. “This is an adjustable zener diode chip. It has nothing to do with the defence industry. The chip is systematically supplied to the markets of Southeast Asia, including China. There are ten thousand microchips on this plate.”
The microcircuit has a special advantage: the increased stability of the output voltage when the ambient temperature and load current change. As noted by the company specialists, it has high reliability and protection against static electricity and can be used as an in-circuit regulator in power supplies and chargers. The field of industrial application is quite wide — including automotive electronics, secondary power sources, machine tool construction, industrial and consumer electronics.
