Belarus beach soccer team defeated UAE in friendly match
The Belarus beach soccer team defeated the UAE team 5-4 in the first friendly match at the training camp in Dubai. Nicolas Alvarado's wards snatched victory in the last minute of extra-time.
In the sparring with the hosts of the soon-to-be World Cup, Belarusians were just getting in shape, 1-3 and 2-4. However, these results did not break the fighting spirit of our players, and they first restored the status quo and then snatched a more than hard-earned victory outside the regular time.
Anatoly Ryabko scored a brace, while Yuri Petrovsky, Nikita Chaikovski and Oleg Gapon scored one more goal each.
On February 11th, the Belarusians will have a dress rehearsal before the start of the World Cup, where they will play against Oman. Next, Nicolas Alvarado's wards will face Senegal (February 16th), Japan (February 18th) and Colombia (February 20th) in the group stage of the World Championship.
The line-ups for the remaining groups: A - Italy, the UAE, the USA, Egypt; B - Spain, Tahiti, Iran, Argentina; D - Brazil, Mexico, Oman, Portugal. Two teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals. After that, there will be an elimination game based on the Olympic system.
The reigning soccer world champion is Russia. The most titled team in the history of the competition is the Brazilian one, owning 14 trophies.
