Belarus, Bashkortostan to continue increasing trade turnover

Belarus and Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation intend to continue increasing mutual trade – as noted by Andrei Rybakov, the Chairman of the Belneftekhim Concern, who oversees interaction with this Russian region, BelTA reports

“As part of the visit to Belarus of the Head of Bashkortostan, members of the government and business circles, a meeting of the working group on co-operation was held. The growth in trade is obvious. So far, these are preliminary data, but I am sure that the clarification will only be for the better. Today we must lay the foundation for that in order to continue this growth this year. Moreover, a number of joint projects have already been planned and are being implemented, both with the participation of Belarusian businesses in the territory of Bashkortostan, and vice versa. Our task is to discuss all aspects and try to shorten the timeframe for the implementation of these serious projects,” Andrei Rybakov said.

According to him, there are serious advances in machine building and machine tool industry. Issues of interaction in the field of agriculture were also discussed.

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan and Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy Rustam Muratov stressed that he considers Belarus as an important strategic partner. “More than a hundred directions of the roadmap are being currently implemented. The potential is enormous. Belarus is a storehouse of competencies. Taking into account the infrastructure and needs of the Russian market, this is an excellent symbiosis that will definitely lead to a global result. We work both in agriculture and in industry. There are many other areas of collaboration: humanitarian, sociological, and cultural,” he stressed.

Rustam Muratov also added that the 10th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia, which will be held in June in Ufa, will show concrete examples of effective interaction between Belarus and Bashkortostan.

As a result of the working group’s meeting, an agreement on co-operation between the Gomel Plant of Casting and Normals and the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan was signed.
