Belarus, UNICEF discuss issues of practical co-operation
Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich has met with the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus, Tanja Radocaj – as reported in the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of practical co-operation between Belarus and UNICEF.
“Yuri Ambrazevich underlined the importance of interaction with UNICEF for the Belarusian side,” noted the Foreign Ministry. “The Fund is a significant partner of the government in improving national policies and practices aimed at the comprehensive development of children and adolescents, protecting their rights and empowering them, while improving the efficiency of public administration for these purposes.”
On behalf of UNICEF, Tanja Radocaj assured of the Fund’s desire to assist Belarus within its mandate both in long-term issues and in urgent situations. She particularly noted the involvement of UNICEF in humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian refugees arriving in Belarus.
