Belarus’ Ambassador to Israel presented a panel with Slutsk sash’s element to Patriarch Theophilus III

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Israel, Yevgeny Vorobyov, met with His Beatitude Theophilos III, Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine, the Belarusian diplomatic mission reports

The Belarusian diplomat congratulated the Primate of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church on the recent day of his namesake and thanked him for taking care of Orthodox pilgrims arriving in the Holy Land, including from Belarus. Mr. Vorobyov presented him with a panel featuring an element of one of the most famous Belarusian relics: a Slutsk sash.

“Various issues of co-operation were discussed at the meeting, including the Belarusian delegation’s participation in the upcoming ceremony of the Descent of the Holy Fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Great Saturday, April 15th this year – for its subsequent dispatch to Belarus,” the diplomatic mission said.
