Belarus’ Ambassador met with Belarusian diaspora in Egypt
The Embassy of Belarus in Egypt has hosted an evening meeting with representatives of the Belarusian diaspora living in the capital region of Egypt. The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Arab Republic of Egypt – as reported in the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Egypt.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt, Sergei Terentiev, addressed those in attendance with a welcoming speech. Belarusians and members of their families were informed about the results and prospects of Belarus-Egypt co-operation and the level of political relations between the two countries. Particular attention was paid to the importance of active interaction of the Belarusians of Egypt within the framework of the Year of Historical Memory. A lively exchange of views took place, tackling topical issues of compatriots’ life in Egypt, the role and place of the embassy in ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of Belarusian citizens, and further joint steps aiming to develop the diaspora.
As part of the meeting, presentations of the products of the Belita JV, as well as the opened Belarusian-Egyptian hospital in Cairo, were also held.
