Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry announced strengthening of co-operation with Kazakhstan

It is noted that during the dialogue, the parties discussed promising areas of co-operation in the field of agriculture and the processing industry, as well as the development of co-operative ties between the countries.

“Kazakhstan is the third largest market for Belarusian agricultural products and food products after Russia and China,” the press service said. “In 2024, the trade turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials between our countries increased to 120.4 percent against the level of 2023. In January-February of this year, the trade turnover increased by 33.3 percent compared to the same period last year.”

Continuing the topic, the Agriculture and Food Ministry noted that exports of Belarusian products to Kazakhstan also show positive dynamics. In 2024, their volume amounted to 120.3 percent compared to the level of 2023, and in the first two months of 2025, exports increased by 35 percent compared to January-February 2024.

“Cheese, skimmed dairy products, milk and cream, animal oil, whey, beef, sausages, meat and edible offal of poultry, sugar are the leaders in the export structure,” the Belarusian agrarian department lists. “Belarus is also a regular supplier of veterinary medicines to Kazakhstan.”

In turn, melons, vegetables, grains, bakery and confectionery products are imported from Kazakhstan to Belarus.

As the Belarusian specialists recalled, bilateral co-operation is actively developing within the framework of the Belarusian-Kazakh working group, which defines priority areas of co-operation in the field of agriculture.
