“Today, twenty of our federations have been allowed,” said the Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister. “The World Taekwondo Championship was recently held, and for the first time in the history of this sport among men, we claimed silver and bronze medals. This makes us very happy. In one way or another, in the next starts we will fight for all kinds of admissions. For example, in the near future Tirana will be hosting the European Cadet Wrestling Championships, where there are no restrictions. Somewhere in other sports, these restrictions are still present, but the United World Wrestling [an international governing body for the sport of wrestling] looks more loyal. In June, our weightlifters are expected to perform at a licensed international tournament in Havana, where it will also be possible to compete for tickets to the Olympics.”
