He recalled that the concept of the Games involves holding them in all regions of the country. “In this way, we would like to show all the beauty of our cities, the hospitality of Belarusians, love for sports and much that is being done in the country to develop sports infrastructure, create conditions for playing sports at all levels: both for young, adult professional athletes, and for mass sports.”

Speaking about the participants of future competitions, he noted that, as the name implies, of course, athletes from the CIS member states will compete, but not only them. “The peculiarity of these competitions is that, according to the regulations, athletes from other countries will be also able to take part,” stressed Aleksandr Baraulya. “Everyone is welcome. We set no limits. The format of these Games will be open. Twenty-two sports, sports grounds, facilities where competitions will be held have been determined. Preparatory work has been going on for more than a year already.”

In general, this year, Belarus will be hosting 70+ international sporting events, including major competitions in sambo, rhythmic gymnastics, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling and other sports. “Sporting life does not stop. Over the years, we have developed traditional international tournaments that are popular,” concluded the Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister.
