Bach urges to respect Olympic Truce

The President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, has called for the Olympic Truce to be respected by all countries, TASS reports

“We call on all political leaders around the world to observe their commitment to the Olympic Truce. I will not make any comments of a political nature that can be interpreted in an ambivalent manner,” the IOC President emphasised.

Mr. Bach also stated, “The IOC has no power to convince anyone to respect the UN Security Council resolutions. We can only urge: please, respect your own agreements. We are not a political organisation. We can only say: please, do not involve the Games, make the path through them safe.”
