Aviation units of Belarus and Russia start performing tasks as part of tactical flight exercises

As part of the second stage of the joint tactical flight exercises of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia, aviation units that are part of the aviation component of the regional group of troops (forces) have begun to perform tasks for their intended purpose, Belarus’ Defence Ministry reports in its Telegram channel

“From the Machulishchi airfield, an A-50 AWACS aircraft performs aerial reconnaissance tasks, as well as control of multi-purpose fighter crews. From the Baranovichi airfield, aviation crews carry out fighter aviation cover of important state and military facilities. From the Lida airfield, aviation crews are training the tasks of overcoming enemy air defence and striking airfields and helicopter pads of a conditional enemy,” the Defence Ministry said.

It is specified that search and rescue support activities are organised and carried out for evacuation of the crews of aviation strike groups. In addition, the engineering and technical staff is involved into the preparation of aviation equipment for combat use.
