Avdonin: CSTO protects financial, economic and industrial interests of our states
Aleksei Avdonin, an analyst with the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, shared his views with STV TV channel, saying that the CSTO should be viewed not only from a military, but also from an economic point of view
The expert stressed that when discussing a possible clash between NATO and the CSTO, they are usually viewed as military structures. He stated that they are a continuation of the economic interests of member states.
“What is the North Atlantic Alliance?” asked the analyst. “This is a tool for large financial-economic and financial-industrial groups to realise their interests.”
Speaking about CSTO prospects, Avdonin decided to focus on the economic component, “Countries that are now subject to sectional pressure admit that further military provocations are possible. In this case, the protection of their interests will be carried out through such military blocs. CSTO is the core of this bloc, protecting the financial, economic and industrial interests of our states.”
