An Australian company has been working to create a mammoth muscle protein. A professor from the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Queensland said, “We haven’t seen this protein for thousands of years... So we have no idea how a person’s immune system will react when they eat it. But, if we were to do it again, we could do it in such a way that the meat would be acceptable to the body.”

According to scientists, the goal of the project is to demonstrate the potential of meat that is grown from cells without slaughtering animals.
